Comprehensive Plan Update
An analysis of the 4 Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee Workshops has been completed. Out of that analysis, Planning Department staff is in the process of creating a synopsis of Committee priorities for the 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update. Those priorities will be supported by applicable goals, objectives, and strategies from each of the 17 sections of the 2035 Comprehensive Plan. The synopsis of Committee priorities, supporting goals, objectives and strategies, updated data, updated Future Land Use map and exhibits, and updated language in each of the 17 sections will constitute the 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update. That body of work is underway – working toward completion of a draft 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update for staff and Mayor review by end of May 2019.
If you are willing to serve on the Committee or participate in the update process in any way, please contact Doug Critchfield, Senior Planner at email@example.com or call 208-468-5406.
What is a Comprehensive PlanThe Comprehensive Plan is the basic document used to guide growth and development in Nampa. The plan is meant to represent the community's consensus about where different types of development should occur and how the quality of life can be enhanced for all residents. The plan covers a range of topics including economic development, housing, land use, transportation, public services and more. It represents the community's vision for how it wants to grow and what it cherishes. The current comprehensive plan looks to the year 2035. This update and review will look to the year 2040.
