Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling is seeking applications to fill vacancies on the City of Nampa’s Airport Commission, Building and Site Design Standards Committee and Impact Fee Advisory Committee. A total of six volunteer openings are available:
AIRPORT COMMISSION (1 opening)
The Airport Commission is comprised of five (5) individuals who make recommendations and advise the mayor and council concerning the operation and maintenance of the Nampa Municipal Airport. The five-member board meets at 5:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at the Nampa Municipal Airport, at 107 N. Pilatus Lane. Applicants must reside in Nampa or the surrounding impact area. The appointed member will serve a four-year term beginning January 1, 2021.
BOARD OF APPRAISERS (1 opening)
The Board of Appraisers is comprised of three (3) City of Nampa staff, as well as three (3) citizens at large. The Board of Appraisers recommend all rates, charges or fees made and established under authority of Nampa City Code 3-1-1 Board of Appraisers Duties. The board also conduct hearings and hear appeals from Nampa utility customers. The board decisions must be presented to Council for approval.
The applicant must live within Nampa city limits as well as receive water, sewer and irrigation services. The board typically meets quarterly at Nampa City Hall, located at 411 3rd St. S. The appointed member will serve a four-year term beginning January 15, 2021.
BUILDING AND SITE DESIGN STANDARDS COMMITTEE (1 opening)
The Building and Site Design Standards Committee is comprised of seven (7) citizens at large having background and interest in community design such as architects, engineers, planners, designers, developers, builders, businesspersons, and landscape architects. The committee reviews projects for compliance with design review standards within title 10, chapters 4, "GB (GB1, GB2 and GBE) Gateway Business Districts/Zones", and 16, "BC Community Business District/Zone", of this code and makes recommendations to mayor and council for consideration.
An appointed member of the committee must have resided in the city for at least one year prior to the appointment and must remain a resident of the city or the impact area, as defined by the current comprehensive plan, during service on the committee. The board meets at 12:30 p.m. on the third Monday of each month at Nampa City Hall, located at 411 3rd St. S. The appointed member will serve a four-year term beginning January 16, 2021.
IMPACT FEE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (3 openings)
The Impact Fee Advisory Committee is comprised of at least five (5) members and two (2) or more members shall be active in the business of development, building or real estate who make recommendations to mayor and council regarding development impact fees, land use and capital improvements. At least one of these three openings must be filled by someone in the business of development, building or real estate industry. The committee meets on an as-needed basis. Applicants must reside in Nampa city limits. The appointed member will serve a two-year term beginning January 7, 2021.
