Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling is seeking applications to fill a vacancy on the Nampa Public Library Board of Trustees. The individual appointed will complete a term of a retiring board member through 12/31/2023. Board meetings are held at the Nampa Public Library on the second Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m., and typically last from one to one and one-half hours.
Nampa citizens with a desire to help oversee the library on this citizen-board are invited to apply. Those with interests in the library and its mission, in the education of Nampa’s young people and in Nampa’s downtown, are especially encouraged to apply.
Trustees are integral to the operations of the library. Five appointed library board members oversee the library director and set the library budget under the direction of the Nampa City Council. They also work with library staff in evaluating and updating library policies and in approving new policies.
After being appointed by Mayor Kling and confirmed by the Nampa City Council, the appointee will begin serving immediately.
Applications are currently being accepted through September 30, 2020. Interested individuals are encouraged to download the application form at cityofnampa.us/serve and submit a letter of interest expressing reasons why they would like to serve via email to Chief of Staff Rick Hogaboam at firstname.lastname@example.org or deliver/mail to Nampa City Hall at 411 3rd Street South, Nampa, Idaho 83651.
