The City of Nampa’s Health Advisory Task Force invites residents to a community conversation around health, economy and recovery Thurs., August 27, 2020 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Nampa Civic Center or attend virtually via

The event provides an opportunity for the co­­mmunity to submit questions to and hear directly from Nampa health care providers and businesses related to the current coronavirus pandemic. Community members are encouraged to submit questions for consideration either via email or calling the Mayor’s office at (208) 468-5401 by 5 p.m. August 26.

The program will include comments by Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling, a presentation from Southwest District Health Director Dr. Nikki Zogg and two panel discussions. The first panel discussion will focus on health and will be facilitated by Ed Castledine, Saltzer Health CEO and Health Advisory Task Force Chair. Panel members include: Dr. Mark Nassir (Saint Alphonsus), Dr. Erik Richardson (Saltzer Health), Dr. Michaela Schulte (St. Luke’s), and Dr. Chris Partridge (Terry Reilly).

The second panel discussion will focus on the local economy and recovery and will be facilitated by Idaho Press Publisher Matt Davison. Panel members include: Enrique Rivera (Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President), Irma Valdivia (Jalapenos Nampa, owner), Brian Gunnell (Materne HR Director – US Operations), Mitch Minnette (Nampa Chamber of Commerce President/CEO), Travis Leach (Saint Alphonsus President).

Mayor Kling said, “We wanted to provide an opportunity for our community to hear directly from Nampa health care organizations and businesses regarding the current status of the coronavirus and discuss how we move forward as a community. The City of Nampa is committed to transparent communication and collaboration as we pursue a strong economic recovery.”
