As a public facility providing services to all demographics, including vulnerable populations, the Library takes the health of the community seriously. After much discussion, the decision was made to cancel all Library programs and outreach until the end of March. The situation will be evaluated after this timeframe.
In addition:
- All scheduled meetings and events in the Multipurpose Rooms have been canceled and will be rescheduled, if needed
- All toys have been removed from the Children’s Area
- Games and puzzles are temporarily unavailable to the public
- Most kits are not available for checkout
- No book donations are being accepted
The library is taking steps to help reduce the risk of spreading Coronavirus by:
- Posting COVID-19 information/prevention signage in public areas of the library
- Providing hand sanitizer (70% alcohol-based), disinfectant wipes and tissues at all public desks for patrons who wish to wipe down keyboards and mice
- Increasing frequency of regular disinfection of hard surfaces with a disinfectant including: computer keyboards and mice, copiers, iPads, other hard surfaces
- Requiring Nampa Public Library staff stay home when they are sick
- Requiring Nampa Public Library staff to regularly practice the preventative measures listed above
The Nampa Library apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates the understanding of its patrons. The Library’s focus is on the health of staff and the community. For Nampa Library Coronavirus updates, visit nampalibrary.org/coronavirus.
