Applications Sought for City of Nampa Boards & Commissions, City Council Seat


Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling is seeking applications to fill vacancies on various volunteer positions within the City of Nampa. Openings on a variety of boards and commissions are listed below as well as one opening on Nampa City Council. Nampa citizens with a desire to represent their community and provide guidance on important matters are invited to apply.

Nampa City Council Opening – deadline to apply is Jan. 6 by 5 p.m.: Current Councilman Rick Hogaboam has been named the City of Nampa’s new chief of staff and his last council meeting will be Jan. 6, 2020. Citizens interested in serving are encouraged to submit a letter and resume outlining their qualifications and community involvement with completed application to by January 6, 2020 at 5 p.m. While we have received a number of qualified applicants, we welcome any further submissions. An appointment is anticipated to be recommended to Nampa City Council for approval by the February 3, 2020 meeting. The remaining term on the soon-to-be vacant council seat expires January of 2022.

Boards and commissions openings:

  • Airport Commission (1 position)
  • Art and Historic Preservation Commission (2 positions)
  • Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (2 positions)
  • Council on Aging (3 positions)
  • Golf Commission (2 positions)

Applicants will for boards and commissions will be interviewed by their respective committee and will provide their recommendation to Mayor Kling. The recommended applicant will be confirmed by the Nampa City Council.

Mayor Kling said, “Citizens who volunteer to serve the City of Nampa are integral to the success and direction of our community. We greatly value and appreciate those who are currently serving and invite residents who are interested in helping shape the future of our community to apply.”
