Kids in Action Day Camp-(KIA)
The Nampa Rec Center, Kids in Action day camp program is a great way to keep your kids active when school is out. Kids in Action gets your kids moving in a supervised, safe environment. KIA Summer Program begins June 10. Kids can swim every day, go on field trips each month, and have a different theme each week to explore. They will do crafts, learn new sports, read books, play games, make friends, and spend the summer being active and having fun! Traditions Tang Soo Do
This class teaches self-confidence, builds self-esteem and improves balance, while establishing discipline and courtesy towards others. Participants will learn age appropriate self-defense and weapons training. These classes are non-violent; sparring is optional.
Clothing and Equipment
Beginning students should wear loose fitting clothing, such as sweat pants and a t-shirt. No jewelry or watches during class. A mouth guard when sparring and a groin protector cup (males) are recommended.

Tai Chi Classes
The beginning class covers the fundamentals of Tai Chi including: basic movements, breathing, meditation, warm-up form and an introduction on the Yang Style Short form. The intermediate class continues with movements, breathing, meditation, the Yang Short form, Yang Long form, fan form, sword form and an introduction to push hands (Tai Chi sparring).

LEGO® Super Hero Animation
Come create and build your own mini movie set out of Super Hero Legos and anything else to help create your own animated movie! Shooting Stars Basketball
Boys and girls in kindergarten and first grade will have fun playing basketball that emphasizes learning skills and sports values rather than pure competition. Each child is placed on a team coached by a parent volunteer. Teams will have one 45-minute practice and one game per week. Practices begin July 8. Games will begin July 11. Coaches needed! Kings Road Park Playground Ribbon Cutting
The Nampa Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce the opening of a new playground at Kings Road Park in Nampa. Kings Road Park is a small neighborhood park that is approximately three acres in size. The park offers a playground, fitness trail and some open areas for play. The newly constructed playground will replace an existing playground in the park and create a new area with new features for kids to play and enjoy the park. • All age requirements must be followed unless instructor’s approval

• It is not uncommon for a child to stay in a particular level for several sessions before successful completion.

Drama Kids International Summer Camp

7th Annual Kids Triathlon

Ready! Set! Participate! in the Nampa Rec Department’s Kids Triathlon! This fun and challenging event is for kids ages 6-13 and will include swimming, biking and running. The 3-event race not only promotes fitness but improves your child’s self-confidence as they cross the finish line on their own. A great introduction to the sport, participants will swim in Lincoln Pool, followed by a safe bike and run on roads and grounds of Lions Park. All participants will receive an event bag and all finishers will receive a t-shirt. The transition areas will be in the parking lots and we strongly encourage friends and family to come cheer on these young competitors.
