Nampa citizens will soon have greater access to their library, with five additional hours open each week. Survey results and comments from patrons were the catalyst for this positive change. Nampa Library Board of Trustees unanimously approved extended open hours for the Nampa Public Library. Extended hours will begin Wed., Oct. 31, with Halloween at the Library, an event for the entire family.
“I am thrilled to make this announcement. We are purposefully progressing to bring the residents of Nampa the Public Library service they want,” said Library Director Claire Connley.
Nampa City Council approved the FY2019 budget which allowed the Nampa Library to hire one additional part-time staff member. This additional employee allows the Library to extend their hours. “We are so pleased the Nampa Public Library will be offering extended hours to our patrons beginning October 31. These longer hours will enable customers more flexibility and convenience in accessing our facility,” said Peggy Shaver, Library Board Chair, speaking on behalf of the Library Board of Trustees.
The Library currently opens at 10 a.m. Monday-Saturday. It closes at 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 6 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday. The new hours will be as follows:
Monday-Thursday: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.Friday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.Saturday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
