Nampa Fire is Hiring

***Written Exam and all applicable documents must be completed and submitted no later than October 15th, 2021 to be accepted. Any applicant who fails to meet the deadline will not be accepted in the 2021 testing cycle.

We are excited to announce that Nampa Fire will be completing a new hire testing this fall. We will be establishing eligibly rosters to fill current and expected vacancies at Nampa Fire Dept. Pre-Employment application and online testing will be completed through Public Safety Testing website. Opening date is Monday, September 6th and the closing date will be Friday, October 15th. Candidate Interviews will be scheduled in early November. Onsite CPAT orientation, practice and testing will begin in November finishing in January with an expected new hire starting date beginning in early 2022.

We will be establishing three different eligibility rosters:

1)     Entry Level Firefighter. No prior firefighting experience necessary. Candidates for this position will NOT need to possess an EMT-B certification to test.  Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent to qualify.  Must have a valid Driver’s license.  Must pass a drug screening and a criminal background check prior to employment.

2)     Entry Level Firefighter – Paramedic. No prior firefighting experience needed.  Candidates for this position must possess a current EMT-P (paramedic) certification to test. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent to qualify.  Must have a valid Driver’s license.  Must pass a drug screening and a criminal background check prior to employment.

3)     Lateral Firefighter- EMT-B/EMT-P. To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a current EMT-B (Basic) or EMT-P (Paramedic) certification. Must have 3 years or more of similar municipal firefighting experience. Must have an IFSAC FF-1 certification or equivalent. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent to qualify.  Must have a valid Driver’s license.  Must pass a drug screening and a criminal background check prior to employment.

Nampa Fire’s open positions will be available beginning September 6 and will close on October 15th. There will be a $49 testing fee required by PST testing site. Applicants must pass with a 70% or higher to proceed in the application process.
