The community is invited to join the Nampa Fire Department and Nampa Police Department at 8 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, for the annual Patriot Day ceremony to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice serving their community on September 11, 2001.
Captain Frank Beauvais will serve as emcee and Captain Jed Simpson will be the bell ringer. The invocation and closing prayer will be given by Nampa Police Department Chaplain Andy Satta.
Taps during the raising of the flag will be played by Larre’ Robertson, member of Bugles Across America. This year the flag will be presented by Nampa Fire and Police Honor Guards, followed by Amazing Grace on the bagpipes.
The ceremony includes the Ringing of the Last Alarm, a tradition in fire departments when there’s a line of duty death.
The remembrance will occur at Fire Station No. 1, located at the corner of 1st Street South and 10th Avenue South. The ceremony is expected to last about 15 minutes. Attendees are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early as the ceremony will begin promptly at 8 a.m.
