Coed T-ball, Girls Slow Pitch Softball, & Boys Coach Pitch Baseball
This recreation program is designed to promote participation, development of fundamental skills and fun in a mildly-competitive environment. Practices and games will be held at Skyview Park. All players will receive a T-shirt, cap, certificate of participation and a medal. Players must meet the minimum age requirement on or before June 4, 2018. Programs begin with daily practices (Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs for T-ball) until season starts. Once the season begins, games will be played 2-3 days a week, with no further practices scheduled. Volunteer coaches are always needed!

Youth Tennis 101
Youth Tennis 101 teaches the basic concepts and strokes of the game quickly and easily in a fun, family-friendly, active & encouraging group environment. Classes will take place on multiple courts with instructors trained and provided by Idaho Tennis Association.

The basic archery class will teach basic technique and form using a compound bow. Equipment, safety and elements of shooting will be covered. Equipment is provided. W.S.I. Water Safety Instructor Course
This American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course demonstrates how to teach Red Cross swimming lessons and set up lesson plans. Course prerequisites are 25 yards in the following 6 strokes; Front crawl, back crawl, breast stroke, butterfly, sidestroke and elementary backstroke.

Kids Paddleboard Fitness Kids ages 8-14 will enjoy fun games as well as muscular strengthening, balance and stretching in this unique fitness class. Class is free but preregistration is required due to limited space.

Family Aqua Zumba combines the aerobic benefits of water workouts with fun music and dance. Jump into the Latin-inspired, easy to follow, calorie-burning, dance-fitness party that makes working out a splash! This unique workout is designed for all ages and ability levels. This program is not limited to dancers, everyone can join and enjoy the benefits and great dance moves. Water shoes are recommended.
Jr. Lifeguard Boot Camp
Learn what it takes to be a lifeguard, such as recognizing a drowning victim, how to assist someone who is struggling in the water and how to perform CPR and First Aid. You must be 11 – 14 years old and be able to swim 25 yards front crawl and 25 yards breaststroke as well as tread water for one minute and float for 30 seconds on your back. Upon completion each student will receive an American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification.

This camp is designed for girls with minimal volleyball experience, but is diverse enough to challenge players who have participated in the Little Spikers camp. This camp teaches basic skills with a focus on getting multiple contacts on each side of the net. A variety of drills and games keep it fun for repeat campers. For girls entering 5th and 6th grade.

By completing this course, students will be granted use of the weight room at the Nampa Recreation Center. Junior Golf League
This fun and exciting eight week Junior League gives kids the opportunity to get out on the course and compete with other kids their own age. Kids will compete in various weekly competitions (Scramble, Best Ball, Fewest Putts, Mystery Hole, Blind Hole, Stroke Play, etc…) and must provide their own clubs. Get Golf Ready is an opportunity for adults to learn the game of golf in a fun and relaxed environment. In this two-day class learn information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children. Course includes handbook, Emergency Reference Guide and CD with fun activities and support resources. Craters of the Moon

LEGO Story Adventures
From Star Wars to Minecraft to LEGO friends! Come create and build your own mini movie set out of LEGOs and learn how to imagine, write, direct, and star in your very own LEGO animated movie or make it into a comic strip. Rookie Rugby is the introductory game for rugby in a simplified version played with flag belts and a ball. The rules and programs of Rookie Rugby tie together child development, healthy activity, fair play, fun and safety. Parents are encouraged to stay.

Snake River Rafting - Hagerman
Join the Nampa Recreation Department and Idaho Guide Services for this half day rafting adventure down the Snake River. Plan to get wet as we paddle through numerous Class 3 rapids and jump off the boat to swim around in calmer sections. Trip includes transportation, rafting and water. Pack your own lunch.

Pond Care Basics
Having a pond for water plants and or fish for food has been a practice for a long time. Having a water feature that makes a pleasant sound and contains attractive plants and or fish can make a backyard an oasis for the mind and spirit. Drawing Space Workshop
On day 1, we draw space ships and aliens using color pencils. Day 2, we learn cartoon techniques for our aliens and their ships using Sharpies™ and markers. On day 3, we complete one large space piece using pastels, emphasizing pastel techniques.
The Nampa Rec Department has partnered with Blazing hope Youth Family Ranch to offer this day camp and answer basic horse care and riding questions. Long pants and closed toe shoes required. Students will be cleaning stalls, grooming and riding horses. Bring your lunch.

This class is designed for people who want to learn basic sewing skills, who have little or no experience. Learn how to use a sewing machine, about threads and needles, how to read a pattern and basic construction techniques while making a pillowcase, zippered pouch and a reversible apron. Class includes all materials and the use of machines.
