The city of Nampa will upgrade traffic signals on Northside Boulevard at the intersections of 6th Street North and Karcher Road to improve safety and traffic flow. Construction will begin on Wednesday, March 14 and is expected to be completed by mid-May.
Crews will construct most of the project during the day, but some work will occur at night to reduce impact to daily commutes. The nighttime work will require lane closures between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The city will install state-of-the-art signals including radar detection, green arrows for projected left-turns and flashing yellow arrows to allow turns during breaks in through-traffic.
Hawkeye Builders, Inc. is the contractor for this $492,000 project.
This project is adjacent to the Idaho Transportation Department’s (ITD) I-84 widening project. The city is coordinating with ITD on work schedules to further reduce the impacts of construction, when possible.
