2017 Residential Landlord Training: Keeping illegal activity out of rental property

The city of Nampa, with additional funding support from the cities of Boise, Meridian and Caldwell, are looking for local landlords and property managers to attend the biennial Residential Landlord Training event, presented by John Campbell, of Campbell DeLong Resources, Inc.

The Landlord Training seminar is designed to help keep illegal activity off rental properties, and each training session will review topics found in training manuals you will receive upon event check-in. Training topics will include: applicant screening, fair housing updates, rental agreements, ongoing management, community building/apartment watch, crime prevention, warning signs of illegal activity, working with the police and crisis resolution/eviction.

Training sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, and/or Wednesday, May 3 at the Les Schwab Corral (Ford Idaho Center Horse Park), located at 16200 Idaho Center Blvd., Nampa, ID 83687.

What is the Cost to Attend?
PRE-REGISTRATION COST: $30 per person to attend one OR both days
DAY OF EVENT COST: $40 per person to attend one OR both days

Based on previous training sessions, reactions from landlords who have completed the course are consistently strong and positive and landlords and managers overwhelmingly agree the training increased their confidence in screening rental applicants and their ability to recognize warning signs of drug activity. This training has become a useful problem solving tool and has proven to be an important part of reclaiming and protecting residential neighborhoods.
