The Nampa Wastewater Advisory Group will meet for the second time on Wednesday (April 12) to evaluate long-term upgrades to Nampa’s wastewater system. The meeting will run from 4 to 6 p.m. in Central Banquet Room at the Nampa Civic Center (311 3rd St. S.). The public is welcome to attend. The advisory group includes community members and technical experts who have volunteered to give feedback on potential improvements to Nampa’s wastewater system. New state and federal regulations are requiring the city to lower the phosphorus and temperature levels of its treated wastewater over the next several years. At Wednesday’s meeting, group members will review six potential alternatives for the upgrades, as well as the process for evaluating each alternative. The city will ask for input about each agenda item. The group is expected to meet four additional times in 2017. Wastewater includes used water from dishwashers, toilets, industrial operations and other sources.More information about the advisory group and Nampa’s wastewater upgrade are available at http://www.cityofnampa.us/642/Wastewater-DivisionCommunity members can still volunteer for the Nampa Wastewater Advisory Group by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling Brittany at 468-5401.
