Stoddard Pathway and parking area closed beginning Oct. 31 at the E. Greenhurst Road intersection

Construction for a new flashing beacon crosswalk and parking lot at the intersection of the Stoddard Pathway and East Greenhurst Road will begin Monday, Oct. 31. The project will increase safety and improve pedestrian access at the crossing.

Safety improvements include the installation of a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon crosswalk, new ADA ramps, lighting enhancements and an updated parking lot configuration.

The pathway will be closed for the construction duration. Pathway users will be detoured outside of the construction zone to South Stonehedge Drive along public sidewalks. The detour will be clearly marked with signage.  Estimated completion date is January 2017.

The East Greenhurst Road and Stoddard Path signal project was awarded to Hawkeye Builders, Inc. for $221,004. The city was awarded a Transportation Alternative Grant that will provide funding for this project. Total anticipated costs, which includes design is estimated at $284,725.
