The Nampa Parks & Recreation Department is excited to open a new pathway in Nampa Wednesday, July 6 at 6 p.m.

The new Edwards Pathway stretches between Midland Avenue and Middleton Road. Edwards Pathway will serve southwest Nampa, which is a fast growing area of our community. As development continues this pathway’s future plans include increasing connectivity to South Fork Park in Nampa. The city's Pathway Master Plan extensions of the Edwards pathway in both directions will eventually connect to the Wilson Pathway to the east and the Deerflat National Wildlife Refuge at Lake Lowell to the west.

Edwards Pathway was funded with impact fees collected over the past several years. These fees are generated from building permits issued to new residential construction projects that are intended to fund growth of city amenities for Nampa's growing population. Funding for the pathway also included $28,000 from High 5 Community Health Grant. Special thanks to Nampa Meridian Irrigation District, Edwards Pathway was only possible due to an agreement between the City of Nampa and NMID.
