The Nampa Public Library’s 14th annual Summer Reading Program kicks off Saturday, June 4, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The program is aimed at all ages in an effort to encourage reading in the summer, but children will have the opportunity to also earn prizes.
The kickoff, reminiscent of a carnival-like celebration, will feature many family-friendly local businesses and non-profit organizations including Zamzows, Lakeshore Learning Center, Texas Roadhouse and the Rollerdrome.
It’s also the time to register for this year’s program. “Get on the Road to Reading” is the theme for the children while “Reading is Wicked Fun” is the theme for teens. Youth do not need library cards to participate in the free summer reading program. There’s also an Adult Summer Reading Program for people 18 years old and up
This program is free and open to the public. No library card or registration is required. For additional information contact the information desk at 468-4472 or visit our Events Calendar at www.nampalibrary.org.
