Petroglyphs have fascinated mankind since they were first discovered. William James Nance will discuss the Five Myths of Petroglyphs May 11 at the Nampa Public Library.
Nance, a University of Washington professor, will present the mysteries of petroglyphs and will feature local petroglyphs during the one-hour lecture. It begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be held in the Multipurpose Room at the Nampa Public Library. This presentation will look at the latest research concerning petroglyphs located in the Great Basin cultural area and discuss their use and meaning,
Professor Nance is a past commissioner of the Canyon County Historical Preservation Commission and a curator of Anthropology. Intended audience: 10 years to adult.
